How does WineCap decide which wines are worth investing in?
WineCap selects wines based on historical price performance, producer reputation, market liquidity, relative value, and critic scores, amongst other things.
The screening process starts with data: WineCap's team analyses price trends, looking for consistent appreciation and active trading volume rather than one-off spikes. Producer track record matters – established names from Bordeaux, Burgundy, Champagne, and a small number of other regions dominate because they have decades of pricing history and consistent global demand. Vintage quality, as assessed by recognised critics, is also weighted, since strong-vintage wines from top producers tend to hold and grow value more reliably. Larger portfolios allow a more diverse collection.
Depending on your needs, you'll have varying levels of input into this process. Every wine added to your portfolio becomes trackable through the client portal immediately.
