Understanding Chateau Rauzan-Segla 2eme Cru Classe, Margaux, Bordeaux

Château Rauzan-Ségla is renowned for its rigorous approach to winemaking, which combines traditional practices with modern techniques. The selection process for grapes is highly stringent, ensuring only the best fruit is used. Fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless-steel vats, followed by maturation for 18 months in top-quality Sessile oak barrels, about 60% of which are new. This step imbues the wine with complexity and spicy notes while serving as a backdrop to layers of rich, concentrated fruit. Château Rauzan-Ségla features aromatic ripe red and black fruit, floral hints and spicy hints in a silky palate with smooth, well-integrated tannins. This Grand Vin has the structure for considerable cellaring when it unfurls and develops even greater complexity.
