Château La Mission Haut-Brion, an acclaimed estate in the Pessac-Léognan appellation, is steeped in history and tradition, dating back centuries. Its reputation for producing wines of profound depth and complexity is unmatched, standing as a testament to the estate's pivotal role in shaping the Bordeaux wine landscape. Owned by the Dillon family since 1983, who also own the illustrious neighbouring Château Haut-Brion, La Mission Haut-Brion has experienced a remarkable era of refinement and excellence. La Mission Haut-Brion was rated a Graves Grand Cru in the 1959 rankings and is often regarded as on an equal footing to other First Growths. The house cultivates about 30 hectares of vines that share the same esteemed soils as its sister estate. The lion’s share is planted to black grapes led by Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot alongside smaller amounts of Cabernet Franc, Semillon and Sauvignon Blanc. The estate is renowned for its dedication to producing wines that perfectly encapsulate the unique terroir of Pessac-Léognan, characterised by gravelly soils that impart a distinctive minerality and structure to the wines.
