Château Clinet, located in the prestigious Pomerol appellation in Bordeaux’s Right Bank, dates back to the early 19th century. It has been at the forefront of Pomerol's ascent in the world of fine wines. Château Clinet has been under the management of the Laborde family since the late 20th century, who have infused a blend of tradition and innovation into every aspect of the vineyard and winemaking practices. Its 11 hectares of vineyards are among the oldest in Pomerol with records dating back to 1595. The estate implements sustainable practices and about one-third of the holdings are horse-ploughed to promote soil health. Vineyards are planted predominantly to Merlot with small amounts of Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc also cultivated. The château's proximity to other iconic Pomerol estates adds to its allure, as it sits amidst some of the most fertile and revered lands in the region.

The vineyards of Château Clinet feature clay and gravel soils that are ideal for Merlot vines. The strategic location of the château ensures optimal ripening conditions, with a balance of sun exposure and climatic influences. The grape harvest at Château Clinet features meticulous handpicking and sorting to ensure only the finest grapes are used. The winemaking process involves fermentation in temperature-controlled stainless-steel vats followed by ageing in three-quarter new French oak barrels for 16 months. This stage ensures the wine develops a subtle oak influence while retaining the integrity and character of the grapes. The resulting Clinet wine is a magnificent expression of the Pomerol terroir, offering a rich, complex, and memorable tasting experience. This Grand Vin displays ripe black fruits, chocolate, truffle and a hint of vanilla in a velvety palate complemented by robust tannins.
