The estate gained prominence in the 18th century under the stewardship of the de Carle family. It was General Jacques de Carles who named the estate "Beau-Séjour" in 1787. The Bécot family, known for their deep roots in the region, acquired the château in 1969 and brought innovative changes. Under their guidance, the château's underground quarries were converted into cellars, providing an ideal environment for wine aging. This château was classified as a Premier Grand Cru Classé B in the Saint-Émilion classification.
